Self-honesty

Self-honesty takes courage. It takes strength. To be able to look inward and see how you are using food to numb and check out of the painful feelings. It’s convenient to not recognise patterns of self-abuse but these patterns played out over weeks, years and decades begins to leave a tell-tale history on the body. The body doesn’t lie…unlike the mind! The mind can make excuses. It justifies and skews the truth to validate a particular outcome.

Ever since I have been in private practice I’ve come to realise that a lot of people (even family, friends, colleagues and passers by) don’t actually understand what it is I do for a living. I must admit although I understand my chosen path on an intellectual level, it’s taken me a while to be able to articulate it in a meaningful way. On here you’ll see me posting recipes/ images of my partner’s culinary creations (he’s the chef in the household) and blogs and articles but might still wonder...what is it that Genna does?
